Online Therapy
I work online. Therapy has to happen somewhere, and it may as well be where you are.
Living somewhere else
When you move countries you find out which parts of yourself were, in fact, the place you came from. It can unsettle your sense of belonging, your relationships, and who you take yourself to be. You may be lonely, or under pressure at work, or simply tired of being someone who has to be explained.
I moved countries myself. It doesn’t mean I know what it has been like for you. It means I know that I don’t.
Does it work on a screen?
People assume something must be lost online, and something is. But rather less than one would think, and something is gained: you are speaking from inside your own life, not from a consulting room. My approach is the same, existential-phenomenological and psychoanalytic: we attend to what you bring and to what happens between us.
Practical arrangements
Sessions take place by video, in English, Turkish or French. You will need a reliable internet connection and somewhere private, where you can speak without being interrupted. We can talk about availability, and about whether meeting online suits you. Session length, fees and cancellation are set out on the Sessions and Fees page.
Common questions
How can I protect my privacy?
Choose a room where you won’t be overheard or interrupted. If that is difficult where you live, tell me, and we can think about it before we begin.
Can we meet in person as well?
Face-to-face sessions can be discussed and arranged in advance.
How do I get started?
Write to me with a few lines about what you are looking for and when you are free. We can then consider together whether online therapy would suit you.
